In today’s video, I walk you through a simple but powerful part of our off-grid system — how overflow from our water tank is repurposed to nourish our in-ground vegetable garden.
Watch as I show how fresh well water fills the tank (powered by its own dedicated solar panel system), and when it reaches capacity, the overflow trickles down through a small trench, flowing directly into our in-ground garden space. This system ensures not a drop goes to waste — and highlights the importance of timing our tank fills to when the sun is shining, since this solar setup is separate from our main battery-backed array.
It’s a small but mighty example of sustainability in action here at the JDK Ranchette
