Chicken Tractor (full video)

Dano built a heavy-duty chicken coop/tractor, and our homestead just got even better—we were gifted 4 chickens from a neighbor! In just over a week, they’ve already blessed us with a few dozen fresh eggs. This mobile coop is no lightweight project—

Dano designed it to be extra sturdy so it can handle being pulled by the tractor. Most of the materials came from leftovers from our house build, including the roofing and siding for the roosting box. The only major purchase was the 4″x4″ pressure-treated posts for the main frame. For predator protection, we wrapped the exterior in ½” 19-gauge hardware cloth. The finished coop measures roughly 6′ x 16’—big enough to give the chickens plenty of space while staying practical to move around the property. Join us as we show off the finished build and introduce the newest (and noisiest) members of our homestead family!
