Dan and I love to explore communities looking for homes that tell a story. In our area we are experiencing a boom of developers replacing modest cottages with large modern homes offering the finest of luxury living. In some cases, the cottages built in the early 1900’s are deteriorating and restoring habitability is a challenge. Our last venture was in Laguna Beach which is a seaside resort city located in southern Orange County, California. It is known for a mild year-round climate, scenic coves, environmental preservation, and an artist community. Laguna Beach properties offer an eclectic variety of architecture and many enjoy a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. I found the style of this vacant cottage built in 1924 charming and took a few photos of the property. My favorite view was through the rear window where you can see the original stove and built-in table with bench seating.
